Sentinel + Contentful is the CMS-integrated variant of the Sentinel cybersecurity SaaS theme. It pairs the polished dark-first design of the base Sentinel theme with Contentful’s headless CMS, giving you full editorial control over every piece of content — from blog posts and pricing tiers to team bios and FAQ items — without touching code.

Headless CMS Integration

Every data source in the theme connects to a Contentful content type: site configuration, navigation, features, pricing, testimonials, team members, FAQ, changelog, integrations, social proof, and blog posts. The src/lib/contentful.ts module provides typed query functions with automatic fallback to local JSON data files. If CONTENTFUL_SPACE_ID is not set, the entire site builds and runs using bundled data — zero configuration required for development or demo purposes.

Blog posts stored in Contentful use rich text fields, rendered to HTML via @contentful/rich-text-html-renderer. When CMS is not configured, the blog falls back to local Markdown files via Astro’s Content Collections. The transition is seamless — the same pages, layouts, and styles apply regardless of data source.

Sentinel ships with 13 production-ready pages: Home, About, Features, Pricing, Blog (listing + individual posts), Contact, Integrations, Reviews, Changelog, Elements (UI kit), Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and a custom 404 page. Every page is fully responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop breakpoints with intentional dark and light mode designs.

The theme features hand-crafted SVG dashboard mockups throughout — a full cybersecurity dashboard in the hero section and six unique feature illustration variants. These are inline SVGs that adapt to the theme’s color system and dark/light modes automatically.

Developer-Friendly

Set up in under 5 minutes. Copy .env.example to .env, add your Contentful space ID and access token, create the documented content types, and you have a fully CMS-managed cybersecurity website. The theme uses Astro 5’s latest features including <ClientRouter /> for smooth page transitions and @tailwindcss/vite for Tailwind v4’s CSS-native configuration.

SEO and Performance

Every page includes unique meta tags, Open Graph data, Twitter cards, and JSON-LD structured data. The theme ships with automatic sitemap generation, a robots.txt, and an Open Graph image template. Built as fully static output for maximum performance and easy deployment to Netlify, Vercel, or any static host.
