Lumen for Astro + Medusa connects the clean, minimal Lumen storefront to Medusa.js v2’s self-hosted commerce backend. Products, variants, pricing, and inventory are managed through Medusa’s Store API, while the cart and checkout flow seamlessly through Medusa’s hosted checkout. The integration is designed to be zero-config for development — when Medusa credentials are not provided, the theme falls back to local JSON data so you can preview and customize the design without running a backend.

The theme includes all of Lumen’s core features: 34 pages, 49 components, dark and light mode, i18n with RTL support, product filtering, Quick View modals, hover zoom gallery, wishlist, compare, and a free shipping progress bar. Built on Astro 5 with Tailwind CSS v4, the Medusa variant adds real commerce capabilities while maintaining the Scandinavian minimalism and muted blue and warm coral palette that define the Lumen design system.
